Salisbury Cathedral was built from 1220-58 in pure Early English style. The cloisters, chapter house and the tower and spire (the highest in England at 123m) were added later.

Herzlichen Dank, Lutz! Der Figurenschmuck der Fassade ist (leider) zum großen Teil viktorianisch- die Eiferer von Cromwell haben während der Reformation überall in England den Statuen die Köpfe abgehauen.

Thanks a lot, Roger! Even though the cathedral Close is so vast it hasn't been that easy to find a good viewpoint. The Constable view from the meadows is unsurpassed but this time we sadly hadn't enough time for that.
