This message is to let you know that I've taken a good, long, appreciative look at your image. I'll have spent the time to see the care you've spent with depth of field, composition, lighting and details. If you meant to make a statement, you know I'll get it. If your picture evokes a feeling or mood, I will experience it. It means a lot to me that you've picked just the right image or gone to the effort to specifically take a picture for our wonderful new ipernity group, and I have been enjoying myself immensely as I look at every picture in the group.

I have some great and exciting news! For the first time in 8 years, I will have a full-time job instead of the part-time freelance projects I've been doing until now. My job starts in less than two weeks and I need to take this time to prepare for my position and get our house ready so our three dogs and bird will be ok being alone all day. So, although I'll have time to visit and view every picture in our group carefully, I don't have time right now to leave individual comments. I hope you understand! Once my job is underway, I will make time so I can go back to giving everyone a personal comment about their picture. Just know that, even though this is merely a cut-and-paste comment, I have given your picture the attention that it deserves, and I have appreciated your talent and choice! :)

Thank you for participating in our group, 10-Week Picture Projects: Color Wheel

i often have trouble photographing reds to my satisfaction, but this orange and yellow seemed to be natural for the computer screen.

I agree, reds can be overwhelming for my camera, too! I don't know the technical reason for this, but a real photographer would know. This is a cheery shot, simple and lovely!

Probably the reason you don't know the technical reason is that there are multple reasons why reds are hard to get on camera (true with film as well as digital). There are many good comments with great suggestions on how to deal with this issue on this webpage about how to get a photo of a red rose - but the ideas apply to other situations as well: forums2.gardenweb.com/discussions/1650937/camera-struggles-taking-pictures-of-roses
Glad you like the photo.
