thanks - i'm drawn more to the loose photo these days in my own photography while still loving clear and colorful ones.

I am - I have been absent from not just ipernity, but the computer in general for awhile. It's helps me be calmer (though I'd rather be that way by geting outside altogether!). I am starting to see the light and hopefully will be here more again. Thanks for the check in.

I can see this as a book or CD cover. Really superb!

i'm so glad you like this. i rather fond of my less straight forward photos. i can't paint or draw loose at all (or really at all), but sometimes i can pull one off loose in the photo world.

I am a sucker for doing these kinds of shots too........its about letting go for me....and being open to random, knowing the image will not be clear......but loaded with other stories..
heres some of my own favs...

what you say is so the same for me. i photograph partly because i don't paint. i have trouble letting go and flowing with the moment. these type photos are a release. thanks for sharing yours!

Interesting discussion. I photograph because I no longer paint! So, the crazy-editing part is usually my favorite.

My sister was a huge painter for a very long time, then she basically just stopped. She's never told me why. So will you tell me why you stopped?
