HFF everyone. The first rose in the garden this year

A week or two later than last year but then winter did hang around much longer this year.
UPDATE; for those who asked what variety of rose this is, I had forgotten that I DID find out last year, just before I was struck down with Covid and I have tended to forget knowledge acquired just before then. The name of the rose is ALFRED SISLEY..

Similar weather here now but up till last week, freezing nights, and wet and windy days. Not much liked by the spring plants so they stayed asleep for longer than usual and a I can't say I blamed them!

One thing I was told that denotes an old rose is the deepness of green in the leaves. Not sure how true it is but I have certainly seen more old varieties with deep green leaves than not!
