No, I was determined to walk round the park ... on the inside, José Manuel! So I walked 3/4 round the outside before getting to the gate and then walked round the inside before walking round the outside again! A large contribution to my 10,000 daily steps target!
Yes, I saw all that on the news, As a classical music lover I fear for musicians' futures; their situation was precarious enough before. I fear for most people's futures. This will be a very difficult few months, years and decades for most people. We need to show far more tolerance and less belief in whatever our fellow bloggers say. It is a sad fact that people gravitate towards people who share their own views so that if you see that you share a view with 174,903 other people then you MUST be right (and as you are very 'tribal' you never escape your comfort zone to see the views of millions of others!!)

Oh, I feel for you. I hope they open some of the other gates soon. Masks have only just been made compulsory here on public transport which I don't use. I think some people use them in shops but my shopping gets delivered. However I get really ratty about the two metres. Sometimes it's difficult to do but it's those who make no attempt at all that drive me up the wall. I'm very lucky to live in a country village where I can keep out of everyone's way.

I try and live as though I'm in a country village, Jean ... But the reality is that I live in a 1920s tenement block with 287 other flats in the block and only one entrance / exit. The doorman / concièrge / portero is conscientious and always wipes common surfaces down, but I feel the risks are still high for someone such as me with cancer issues, low immunity and type 2 diabetes. Yes, I feel I need the exercise and fresh air and my oncologist agrees ... Nevertheless I flinch every time I have to walk by a group of giggling teenage girls without masks and no comprehension of social distancing, etc. And it's not only the young ...
I cross the road rather than having to try and find a safe way through idiots. And I certainly don't think i'm being in the least bit paranoid.

You certainly are not, Andy! It's everyone's responsibility to keep things safe also for those with higher vulnerabilities, but it is extremely tough to get this across to teen agers ... My brother has had to put his younger son on "house arrest" repeatedly (here in Italy we are practically fully de-confined now) because he keeps behaving in a way that puts his father at risk (my brother has severe heart issues). Sadly, many adults don't behave any better ... deconfinement here has meant a gradually increasing cavalier attitude. I hope we don't have to pay for this in spades.

Yes you have a little bit of freedom, but already it is jeopardised. I feel exactly the same as you about social distancing, Andy, and behave like a grumpy old lady when we pass people who don't seem to care about the 2 metre rule. I pointedly ask if they don't understand what 2 metres looks like, and am classified as being unstable. Thank goodness we live in a village and it's possible to keep out of peoples' way most of the time.

Well, under my mask I mutter various invectives, and maybe I had a serious verbal but not physical challenge twice by turning on my heels pretty sharpish. But I can't help myself. I positively seethe at the utter stupitidy of hoi polloi and people who should know better!

They seem to want to communicate from outside and beyond the fence, which here appears to me as a symbol of that mask and other necessary precautions that we all, I say all of us, should get it into our heads to continue to use even in the open air against this insidious virus.
It's true: there are people (here fortunately there are few of them) and definitely not only the younger!, who act as if everything was over, which we know well it is not, and treat the more aware as paranoid!
Or maybe they , idiot,think they are super heroes, immune from everything, who can give a damn about public health.

I prefer to err on the side of caution and wear masks outside, Isabel. After all I live in a city and every street has many pedestrians at all times, so masks are essential.

I understand... As we don't have the same reality here we can't really imagine what you have been through.
It is hard to breath with a mask on, I feel quickly dizzy, but I have a reduced lung capacity due to an accident at work 30 years ago, because of that I had to stop climbing (Alpinism) and have problems in altitude... so I avoid as much as possible places where I need the mask, I buy online and go walk in the wild where I dont see anyone, otherwise I stay home.

Yes, it is different here. Sorryy you can't go climbing any more, Isabel.
I have only one face to face class, re-started two weeks ago and held 3 metres apart with masks and in a well ventilated room. My other other classes are all online, through Hangouts, WhatsApp, Jitsi or Skype. Many people use Zoom but that costs money (it's very good though and probably worth it) and I need the free platforms and tools at the moment, for obvious reasons!

I still can hike, but in high altitudes with rarefied oxygen my lungs dont cope.
Well, keep safe and keep living, online work is a great thing. I heard of zoom but I dont know about it, as I only need to comunicate with friends whatsapp is enough (and the only one as I have no account in any social media...)

You are getting there Andy -as are we... yes, loads of our people ignoring these rules too. We in Oldham, last weekend had a 2-3000 unofficial Covid Isolation Rave in one of our country parks in the middle of the night leaving a right mess around including many examples of drug abuse. Locals and police seem to be powerless to prevent another such 'Rave' this weekend. Only heavy rain -does that. Social Isolation - lots of our young people don't know the meaning! better get of my high horse now :) Great shot by the way. Well done.

It's a shame that except on any form of public transport our Government will only "advise" people to wear masks where Social Isolation is difficult to achieve such as in shops. We always wear a mask when we go into a shop, but more often than not we are the only ones doing so. They don't seem to understand that it is to protect others just as much as to protect themselves. As for Social Distancing - it's a joke! Rant over!

Things are opening up here but they made no sense even when things were difficult. Bought something in a store and the cashier was behind a plex sheet with a mask on but handed me my change with a bare hand. The stuff in the stores has also been handled by others without any attempt made to deal with it while shopping cart handles are studiously cleaned.

Oh what gorgeous flowers and I am like you re: the people who don't wear masks and don't keep to the 2m rule make me fume. My daughter in Turkey - where it's obligatory to wear a mask when out in public, is horrified when she sees people walking around as if there's nothing wrong going on in the world. She's too scared to go out, even though she wears a mask, because yesterday some people who had come down from Istanbul, were found out to be all positive when tested!!! They'd been down in her home town for a week, so how many people have they infected? Also the hospital is full to bursting on the intensive care wards. Those people are so selfish and deserve to get the virus at this rate. So please stay safe.

I want the police and army out in force and really having a go at the selfish bastards. They need to be VERY heavily fined and if necessary imprisoned (and celled with known positive prisoners). Yes, I DO feel very strongly about this, and I don't care who knows it!

Andy I know just why you would be so annoyed, the news has just come through the Victoria OZ has closed and locked them selves down Covid 19 spike. While we enjoy freedom IN WA I am always very mindfully it can all come undone by people not caring or doing the right things.

A lovely picture Andy. Now Spain is letting many European countries back in for holidays, including UK. I hope they are not allowing this too quickly! I know they depend so much on tourism but it seems too quick to me. Take care....I have 4 masks that I made and have given some away as well. Better to be safe than sorry.
