La Sierra de La Cabrera is a wonderful place to go walking and / or scrambling. It is very close to Madrid, nice and compact, often has clear weather when the main Sistema Central ridge is in cloud and the walks can all be done in a day or even a half day.
And yet very few Madrileños/as ever go there. I believe it is because there are no restaurants here and so it does not constitute a day out for them!!!
They are missing out a lot. They should get used to sandwiches!!!
