La Machota Chica, half way up the final slab.
You can see it's not so steep!

Andy Rodker club has replied to William Sutherland clubAndy Rodker club has replied to Diane Putnam clubI would have liked to but I was in the middle of a long-ish trek following an old guide book and didn't know what, if any, obstacles lay ahead. As I had the time of the last bus back to Madrid to keep uppermost in my mind, I couldn't dawdle! It's much the same when I occasionally (that word again!) go with a hiking group. I enjoy it but I can't veer off and do some exploring of my own, stop to admire the view as long as I might wish and, importantly, can't keep stopping and starting to take photos! I enjoy the company but in many ways prefer to do my own thing!

I like the composition here Andy...........especially the diagonal of the rock. The tree is perfectly placed in the frame. Nice one Sir!

Andy Rodker club has replied to Gudrun clubI agree that it would be trickier going down (as is often the case in the mountains), However I didn't have to because my path continued along a ridge and eventually down to the palace / monastery.
