La Sierra de La Cabrera - granite boulders

La Sierra de La Cabrera - granite boulders
I remember this as being an extremely hot August day. But the light was very good.
The distant mountain is La Bola Del Mundo, thought for centuries by the good folk of Madrid to be the highest mountain in the world! (It's not even the highest mountain in La Sierra de Guadarrama!)

Dimas Sequeira, Gudrun, Nouchetdu38, and 10 other people have particularly liked this photo

Here we are - Asterix/R.Goscinny did right. You not neccessarily need to learn on hard school-benches.
But the connection with the river Rubicon, I didn't know. I knew that crossing the Rubicon-phrase as "point of no return" or that the way ahead is as far (or already shorter), than the way back. "Alea iacta est" or "Die/Der Würfel sind/ist gefallen" (usually it is plural - sind=>are - in German) or "The die is cast" for me had the sense of "The decision is made".

Yet, enjoy your Sunday! :-)
(Finally we have some rain over here and end of September-temperatures. It was, perhaps still is far to dry (and to warm). As a garderner and a person who works outside most time of the week, I happily can cope with rainy Sundays - I just made a fire in my oven and looking forward to a nice cup of tea) :-)

You are probably right. I know about the Crossing the Rubicon speech - and another one is 'to burn ones boats.' Cortez I think.
Enjoy your tea!!
