Roman Road near El Escorial.

A minor Roman road - not linking any major towns - probably built for transport of minerals mined in the Sierra de Guadarrama.
But well preserved in a few places such as this. Elsewhere all the stones have been half-inched for wall construction!

Thank you Rosa! Most parts of the track show no sign that the Roman road came this way. The evidence is all in the granite walls than line path sides of the path!
