How do you like your Dragon eggs - Flipped NGC6164

How do you like your Dragon eggs - Flipped NGC6164
This is night two (and that's it for well over a week) this came about by recollimating the mirrors on the mount. In short you have to line up the mirrors by following steps and "eyes" to see just where things are each adjustment is not on one screw but three bottom or main mirror and the secondary or top mirror. It better than the first shot but still could be better.

I have to remove the clips that hold the mirror and put silicone under the mirror to hold it in place gives cleaner stars. This also was stacked with the right flats the first had none.

That was a nightmare in itself I got up early to get this done every time I turned around power points all lost power. after the 4 th time and a lot of head scratching I remove everything on power points in the house and built it back. Came to fish tank lights and it all went dead.

the egg can be seen at the very bottom of the PIp.This shot hangs in our bed room on metal as we dont have any other place to hang it as its BIG, yes I sleep under dragons .

This will give you a heads up as to what went on and why. I am so happy that these results came out straight away I thought I would be in for more work it has been since november last year I was planning and getting the required parts. the fish tank I have cut all the old lights out and am in the process of adding a whole new set of light. cant complain for 20 years of running.

This is just amazing, Steve. I felt totally happy getting a shot of the new moon in juxtaposition with Venus at the beginning of this week. Your photo is something else entirely!

Hi Steve
A wonderful picture, which I like very much!
I was wondering how your achievements here stack up against those huge optical telescopes of last century?
Best Wishes, a nice weekend, and stay safe!!

it would be poor as I don't have hundreds' of thousand of equipment but just a humble back yard photographer. But the quality would be street ahead of them...

Great work, Steve, but getting there sounds like an exercise in frustration!

no not frustration I count it as learning and getting it right as yet I have not found a book that set it all out other than you learn as you go...

This is way beyond me (and my patience) but I do admire your results. It looks incredible and quite surreal!

when you get this far out in space things do look unreal just look at the dragons I did three of 4

The Fighting Dragon of ARa NGC6188

detail is staggering. Its all about a computer and getting it to work...
