Footbridge to flooded car park

Footbridge to flooded car park
The River Severn has burst its banks, and water covers Frankwell car park (at the other end of the bridge). The flood barriers have been erected a little further downriver to protect the theatre and surrounding buildings. A short distance upriver there is a flooded garden of a small riverside cafe, where a teapot was floating in the river.

Wow, I read about the floods but seeing them shows the dimensions! The floating teapot is rather touching...

That's quite some flooding. I hope it didn't affect too many people.

The first time I visited Shrewsbury it was like this Amelia! We tried to drive out to a park and ride as all the car parks were flooded but so many people there that it would have taken ages to get a bus. In the end we asked at a pub about a mile out if we could use their car park, which they kindly agreed to! The River Severn is always a problem! Two super shots though :)

I heard about this on the news...............I hope there wasn't too much damage!

You have a great perspective here Amelia.............and your composition is just spot on! It looks really lovely...........but not, I suppose, to those affected.

Love the floating Teapot!
