That's an impressive looking cathedral for such a relatively small city. The architecture is amazing!

When it was built it must have looked truly amazing to a traveller crossing the fens miles of empty marshy land and that appearing no wonder it was called the ship of the fens, even today with the buildings of the town it looks very impressive from the train crossing the fens

Yes, it must have looked amazing Peter. This was taken on my second visit to the area and I still didn't go inside! Maybe next time :-) Have a good evening.

Nice description of the architecture of this cathedral, but the real strength of the photo is the diagonal of the wall.

Wat een kolossaal bouwwerk Rosa volgens Peter Castell ligt het midden in moeras dan is er veel werk voor nodig geweest voor een fundering-Schitterende Foto !

A very flat landscape in this region Fred. They must have done well with the foundations, as it's still there, and hopefully for many more years to come. Have a good new week.

A difficult place to photograph because of it's size. For a full view there are walls and trees in the way. One place I found was in the car park down by the river but there was a lamp post smack bang in the middle of the view. Your main picture here probably gives you a good sense of size.

I was surprised at the size of it Maurice. A beautiful area that surrounds the Cathedral with many nice buildings. I didn't get to the river.
