Daffodils

Daffodils
Daffodils in the garden, perking up after the wind and rain. They seem to survive very well. They were swaying slightly so not as sharp as I would have liked.

Günter Klaus, ©UdoSm, Treasa Ui Cionaodha, Erhard Bernstein and 27 other people have particularly liked this photo

This beautiful photo reminds me of Wordsworth's poem we had to learn in high school !!!!!!
(I cursed daffodils for a long time because I didn't like learning poems)******
Have a nice sunday evening********

It's a poem that we are all familiar with Nouchet.
I feel your pain ;-))
Thank you for liking the picture.

Lovely to see, Rosa. I don't recall seeing them here (other than wild dwarf varieties in the mountains) so a vicarious pleasure for me! Many thanks!

I have a lot of the dwarf variety Andy and they flower much later, usually the same time as the tulips. Hope you have a good new week.

They are lovely. They were not a favourite of mine but I have come to appreciate them more in my old age. I'll have to wait a while for them to flower here.

Thank you Jean. I think that does happen. I seem to appreciate them much more in later years :) I love all the different varieties. I have some of the dwarf variety but they flower much later, with the tulips.

Spring must have sprung, Rosa. I love the shallow depth of field, that makes the daffodils pop from the background. Cheers, Joe

The poor things have been quite battered and blown around Joe, but they seem to survive.
Thank you for your kind comments. Cheers, Rosa.

Looking good, it sounds familiar trying to get a shot when the wind drops for a second, I have got a few tete-a-tete showing colour but they are only a couple of inches high

These more bog-standard daffs are always early. A lot more varieties still to flower, hopefully in time for Easter. Hope you have a good new week.

Bien despegadas del fondo y bonito contraste de amarillo con el verde. El viento no ayuda en las fotos de flores.

Thank you for your kind comments Jose Manuel. The wind certainly doesn't help. It's a much calmer day today thankfully :) Have a good new week.

A beautiful image. Whenever I see these, I find myself going back (more than a few years) to high school days, when we were expected to study Wordsworth's "Daffodils" - "I wandered lonely as a cloud, etc...". They aren't seen here where I grew up, so let's just say it failed to resonate. :-)

Rosalyn Hilborne club has replied to tiabunna club
I can appreciate why it failed to resonate George :-) I expect school studies have changed somewhat nowadays. It's one of those poems that people worldwide seem to know. I must admit, I didn't appreciate the poem when I was at school, but I do now. Thank you for your kind comments. I hope you have a good new week.

Hi Rosa

A very nice picture, of the daffodils

Fantastic colours too.

Quite a few have come up on the riverbank where I walk (most days). When we get a sunny day I'll take some photos. Hopefully before St Davids day.

Best Wishes, a nice week to come, and stay safe!!

Spring is coming soon Rosa. Love your daffodils...

Two weekends ago we had snow and ice and very much cold with minus 10 degrees Celcius below zero! But the next weekend (three days ago) we had plus 15 degrees Celcius and took out our thick cloths and went for a walk to the beach ;)

Greetz and happy day to you, Christien.

Rosalyn Hilborne club has replied to Chris10 club
Thank you for your kind comments Christien. I think you have had it colder than in Somerset, but it was cold enough for me ;-)) Spring will soon be upon us, bringing much needed colour to our gardens.

Best wishes & take care,
Rosa.
