What a delightful season fruit collage, dear Rosa!
As I often said your garden is a garden of wonders!
I love the lighting and presentation and of course ... I’m sure your pies will be delicious!
Take care, my friend

Thank you dear Adele. The fig tree is so full this year! I hope they all ripen.
I might make a gooseberry fool instead of a pie...I'm not so keen on them ;-)
Wishing you a good evening my friend.

Oooooo what a fabulous garden you have Rosa!! I haven't had gooseberries for many years. When we were little we used to eat them straight from the bush.....red ones I do believe!!!

Rosalyn Hilborne club has replied to Cheryl Beal club
Thank you Cheryl. It's quite productive at the moment. Got some tomatoes and peppers coming on nicely in the greenhouse! I've just tried a cherry and they are almost there!! I've never seen red gooseberries but sounds good.

Three super images..............beautifully presented Rosa!

Each image is nicely sharp and detailed and all have lovely light and colours. The fruit looks delicious - the cherries look especially tasty!

I discuss gooseberries with my students (those that are interested in food and cooking that is) and it is interesting (and obvious really) that they are unrecognised by 95% of my students, but those that grew up in Galicia and Asturias (in other words the norhwest coastal areas) know them very well. They know rhubard too, which is a complete mystery to other Spaniards!
Lovely collage, Rosa!

Rosalyn Hilborne club has replied to Andy Rodker club
Rhubarb has become very popular in restaurants over here in recent years Andy. Something your students will be familiar with is figs, and I have a tree loaded with them! It must be the early good weather we had! Thank you for your kind and interesting comment.

I grew many varieties with great success in my garden in Pinner, Middlesex, Rosa and used to like making fig conserves and jams, etc. I inherited a mature tree that didn't bear any figs (wrong sex apparently) but I had quite a few growing in containers or with restricted root runs in the ground and I got decent crops from at least one or two most years and spectacular crops in good years.
I'm not allowed to eat them now; alongside pears, cherries, grapes, banana and pineapple (due to diabetes).

Nicely presented, trio of fruit. I assume you have the sherries under netting. A nice gooseberry crumble would be nice. :-)))
Rosalyn Hilborne club has replied to Amelia club
Yes the cherries are in a cage of netting. Last year the birds had most of them, so action was needed :) I prefer crumbles to tarts and pies Amelia, so that's what it will probably be!

A nice selection Rosalyn, fruit is a waste of time for me this year the birds pulled the gooseberries off when they were small not eaten just pulled off, strawberries a non event to dry in May, raspberries and black currants a lot of very small ones, red currants not bad managed to keep the birds off again they were pulling them off green a serious cull of pigeons is needed. Some apples at home and a few damsons needless to say no apricots
3 years ago.
Rosalyn Hilborne club has replied to Peter Castell club
The strawberries have been good this year for me but the blackcurrants are not looking very plentiful! The plum tree is full of fruit, so hoping for many summer crumbles!
