Ha, ha..............from the thumbnail, I actually thought you'd spotted a real fox on the roof :-))

Two smashing photos Rosa..........I really like the gorgeous thatched cottage and the dog chasing the fox is just brilliant. Some thatchers actually have a signature shape that they put up on the ridge of the roof apparently.

Well I had to look twice Keith!! My daughter has two birds on her thatch. Thank you for the link. Yes it's very interesting. I was very fascinated watching thatchers work on a cottage opposite where we stayed in Devon once. It was 1972...and I still remember ;-))

It's good to see the complete thing although I think the close up makes the best photo, some thatched properties around here, slate used to be quarried locally but it didn't split like Welsh slate it was very thick so a roof started with big ones at the eaves getting smaller to the ridge

I thought that as well Peter. I like Welsh slate.
