Adur Ferry Bridge

Adur Ferry Bridge
The Adur Ferry Bridge is an opening foot-bridge that crosses the tidal River Adur and tidal salt marsh at Shoreham-by-Sea, West Sussex. It replaced a 1920’s narrow concrete footbridge. This one opened in 2013.

Please try the larger view.

Another image with a slightly different perspective in the PiP. Thanks for looking.

Excellent perspectives and nicely controlled light in this terrific image of what appears to be a well-used bridge, Keith, The colours of the banks contrast nicely with the blue of the water and the foreground boat anchors the shot perfectly.

A well used bridge. I like the fact that it has clear sides so the one can enjoy the view.

Thank you Amelia. The clear glass keeps the wind off the pedestrians as well, but apparently is a target for vandals who seem to enjoy breaking the glass. There were two panes covered and waiting repair on the day we visited.

I like the bridge in these are two super shots Keith. I have been to West Sussex but not to this place. I have just booked a holiday 'up north' for October to see some places I have always wanted to visit. I think this area will be next on the list.

Have a good Wednesday....and keep cool!

Thanks Rosa..........it's quite a simple structure, but quite lovely, especially in the sunshine. Glad you like it.

You're off "oop north" then................don't forget you'll need to get all sorts of inoculations and it's best to try and learn a bit of the language too :-)))

Diese interessante Brücke scheint sehr beliebt zu sein. Bei der Hitze waren die Leute wohl auf dem Weg zum Meer, wo man mit einem kühlen Fußbad belohnt wird.

It was indeed quite busy.......but you can't get to the sea via the bridge, it just takes you to the other side of the river. I suppose you could cool your feet in the river, but it's more like mud flats on either side, not sand or pebbles.
