Sunflowers

Sunflowers
I don't know about you all, but sunflowers always make me smile, even on an overcast morning like this. Taken in the Idsworth Valley in the South Downs National Park last Friday.

These are the ones in the foreground of my photo of St Hubert's church: www.ipernity.com/doc/keithburton/51518604 which was taken later in the day after the sun came out briefly.

Nouchetdu38, ROL/Photo, Andrea Ertl, Jörg and 21 other people have particularly liked this photo

You don't need the sun in a sunflower photo, there are plenty of suns already:-) Overcast skies seem to make them shine, beautiful!

Yes definitely a sight that always brings a smile! Van Gogh's paintings must have made him happy for a while! This is a stunning shot Keith, and it's nice to see them as the star of the picture with the beautiful rolling hills as a backdrop.

Always good to see sunflowers Keith. For so long, my favourite of all flowers. I have not seen any in fields this year so far and in fact saw my first one in a garden yesterday. Anyway the flowers balance the far landscape perfectly here completing that nice mix of greens and yellows. Well done.

Thanks for sharing with our UK Landscape Photography Group , Herb

Schitterende opname, Keith. Maar hoe krijg jij het voor elkaar, dat alle bloemen naar jouw lens kijken? (lol)

Such bright and happy-looking flowers. No wonder they make you smile. Even the golden fields behind them look dull by comparison!

Wenn Sonnenblumen so aussehen wie in diesem schönen Foto, dann freue ich mich. Bei uns sind die Sonnenblumen leider vertrocknet, und das stimmt mich traurig.

Thanks Wilhelm.

I think the sunflowers in my part of the country flowered quite late this year and they were not as tall either.

That's a great shot Keith,.. a nice sweeping line into the picture and good focus from the flowers to the distance - no doubt helped by your choice of f/11... // A fine all round picture // Dj.
