St Hubert's Church is a Grade 1 listed building built around 1053. It sits in the middle of a field in the South Downs National Park. More of its history in the link if you're interested: www.hampshire-history.com/st-huberts-church-idsworth I've photographed it many times over the years and it never loses it's charm! Check out the PiP for a slightly closer view.

These were taken on the 19th August on the same day as this one: www.ipernity.com/doc/keithburton/51518604 but much earlier in the day when it was drizzling with rain and very overcast. I decided to post them as someone asked whether I had some shots taken from a different perspective.

Sunflowers

I don't know about you all, but sunflowers always make me smile, even on an overcast morning like this. Taken in the Idsworth Valley in the South Downs National Park last Friday. These are the ones in the foreground of my photo of St Hubert's church: www.ipernity.com/doc/keithburton/51518604 which was taken later in the day after the sun came out briefly.

The Little Church in the Field

My contribution to the World Photography Day group. I have taken lots of photos of this church over the years and it remains one of my favourite places. The landscape changes throughout the year, and so do the crops planted in the field. This year it is sunflowers. The foreground gets very wet and boggy in the winter time as the rain runs off the hill towards the road.........hence the reason for the little bridge. It is also a very peaceful place. Sometimes when I visit, I like to sit on a bench in the church grounds and just enjoy the views and the quietness. I initially arrived here mid-morning but it was overcast and drizzling with rain. The sunflowers were all facing towards the church, which I wanted to get in the photo, so although I took some photos I was disappointed. I revisited again later in the day when the sun was out and took this photo. Unfortunately the sunflowers were still facing in the wrong direction, but I decided this was the best I was going to get and anyway, the rain clouds were gathering again. Out of several shots I took, this was my wife's favourite........so if you don't like it I can blame her. No pressure :-) Please view large, on black. Thanks for looking and have a good day!

I love the look and location of this little church and have taken loads of photos of it over the years. Every time I drive past I promise myself I won't take another one! The last time I was here was back in April. I tried to keep my promise but I couldn't help myself - I just had to stop and grab yet another photo :-)) If it looks familiar to you, feel free to ignore it and scroll past! If you want to know a little more about it, please check out this link: www.hampshire-history.com/st-huberts-church-idsworth Thanks for looking.............or not :-)))

Also known as "The Little Church in a Field". I'm not the slightest bit religious, but I love this little church and I've photographed it many times over the past few years. A couple of years ago it was surrounded by bright yellow Rapeseed flowers. Not quite so colourful this year, but still charming. A last minute decision to dash out to Idsworth tonight by me and Mrs B. Managed to get a few shots of this lovely little church before the rain set in. Amazing how the light changed in such a short period.
