Researching this building left me aghast -- you'll see why. I was walking on Market street through an area that was once all homeless and is still very many, when I noticed this building. Since its on a route I took to work for several years in the 90's, I'm sure I've walked, ridden, or driven by it thousands of times. But, the area was so rundown that the building was probably filthy and not really noticeable.
One advantage of the revitalization (not quite the right word for conversion into high rent...) of downtown is that even buildings in what are still rough (but now gentrifying) areas have been cleaned up very nicely. Such is the case here. The Wilson building was built in 1904 and survived the 1906 earthquake; there's some pictures on the history link in the link below.
"Re-imagined" into apartments, with studios of 386 sq ft ranging in price from $2,675-$2,975 / month (see 'availability' in link; larger units more). No pool, but you do get a rooftop pet-run and a gym in the basement -- no mention of parking. (see nearby Tenderloin pictures). www.thewilsonsf.com
