Liberation Square and Liberation Station area, St. Helier - 7 Aug 2019 (P1030877)
Wednesday 7 August 2019 – A view from Fort Regent in St. Helier showing the outline of the main bus station (Liberation Station) area.

The stone building on the right was once the railway station building for the railway to the western side of the island which closed in the mid 1930s. It now forms the one of the entrances to Liberty Wharf Shopping Centre which runs diagonally to the middle right.

The apartment building beyond it was where the railway tracks and platforms stood and the passenger waiting area of the main bus station (Liberation Station) stands on the ground floor. Buses load beneath recreational area attached to the apartment building.

The red kiosk in Liberation Square is that of Jersey Bus and Boat Tours. The smaller blue kiosk to the right of the bus is that of Tantivy Blue Coach Tours.

The bus is one of the five Libertybus Scania N230UD OmniCity double deckers transferred from parent CT Plus, London in May 2015 which was arriving from the Airport on service 15 and would be pulling up at the kerbside outside the bus station as double deckers cannot enter the bus station itself due to the low height of the roof. I would say the bus is 2911 (J 127203) originally registered YR59 NPO.
