Stepan Vlasov (1854-1919); Russian bass.
At the Moscow Conservatory he was a pupil of the Italian tenor Giacomo Galvani. He already sang two years (1885/87) at Moscow before in 1887 he was engaged at the Bolshoi Theatre, where he remained until 1907. He sang at the première of Arensky's "Dream on the Volga" in 1890 and Rachmaninoff's "Aleko" in 1893. He sang the role of The Wanderer in the Russian première of Wagner's "Siegfried" In 1894. From 1907 he worked as a vocal teacher
On the photo he is seen as Méphistophélès in Gounod's opera "Faust".
