Lina Bell by Nadar

Lina Bell, born Marie Berthe Euphrasie Brunel (1846-?); French mezzo-soprano.

In March 1874 she debuted at the "Variétés" and in August 1874 she was engaged at the Opéra-Comique where she remained till 1877. In 1877 she made her debut at the Grand Opéra Paris as Kaled in Massenet's "Le Roi de Lahore". In 1878 she performed the role of Siébel in Gounod's "Faust".
