Lorenzo Riese by Schubert
Lorenzo Riese (1834-1907); German tenor.
He made his debut in 1861 at the “Kölner Opernhaus” and he remained in Cologne until 1864. During the next years he was engaged by the operahouses of Hamburg, Berlin, Bremen, Breslau and Nürnberg. From 1872 until his retirement from the stage in 1893 he was engaged by the “Hofoper” in Dresden. His most famous role was Raoul in Meyerbeer’s “Die Hugenotten (Les Huguenots)”.
