Marguerite Decroix by Cremière
Marguerite Decroix (1828-?); French (mezzo-)soprano. She made her debut in 1848 at the Opéra-Comique where she remained until 1860. She sang at several premières: as Fathma in Ambroise Thomas’ ”Le Caïd” (1849), in Grisar’s “Les Porcherons” (1850), as Ekimona in Meyerbeer’s “L’Étoile du Nord” (1854), in Adam’s “Le Sourd” (1853) and as a goatherd in Meyerbeer’s “Dinorah” (1859).
