Julia Reine by Maunoury
Julia Reine (1851-?); French mezzo-soprano.
She made her debut in 1869 at the Opéra Comique in Adam’s “Le chalet”. She created the rôle of Marquis de la Bleuette (travesty) in Delibes’ “Le roi l’a dit” (1873). In the years 1875 and 1876 she performed in Belgium at Brussels and Antwerp but then returned to France and mainly sang at Marseille and Bordeaux.
