Catarina (Kate) Morensi by Disdéri

Catarina/Kate Morensi, born Kate Duckworth; English contralto.She made her 1858 New York debut as Prince Affable in "Love and Lightning" at Laura Keene's Theatre. She was well known for the rôle of Maffio Orsini in Donizetti's "Lucrezia Borgia" and Azucena in Verdi's "Il Trovatore."
She was the first wife of tenor Pasquale Brignoli.
