Hidden Coniston

The village of Coniston in the Lake District has many attractions that bring countless visitors here. Not least it’s surrounding mountains and peaks, in particular ‘The Old man of Coniston’ of which this may be part of its base? As we can see the mist hangs low today after days of heavy rain but the bracken shows up as a lovely red colour in this light. The dry stone wall is constructed from local slate that is very common in this area. To my back just a couple of hundred metres or so is the big lake.
