Seeing the Light

Seeing the Light
As we approach this part of our Mossley canal (really called the Huddersfield Narrow) we encounter a fallen tree bridging the canal, brought down by the recent storm Claudia. A tree surgeon looks on as his colleague cuts pieces from the right hand side. A canal barge lies just beyond the tree presumably enabling the felling work.

To me though, this was not about a fallen tree but the magnificent lighting.

See next photo for more distant view and slightly different lighting. You choose your favourite!

Enjoy full screen.

Erhard Bernstein, Annemarie, m̌ ḫ and 2 other people have particularly liked this photo

Like you Gordon, out of the two, I think this is slightly moreappealing for its artistic light quality. Only taken minutes apart but this p.o.v has something. On hindsight I should have climbed over the trunk, as others did, to get a shot from the other side which might have been even better but never got that far.
Great that you enjoyed it enough for a star. Thanks for comparing them.

Have a great day. (even in the pouring rain). Herb

This is definitely the best shot for me Herb.........the light in the trees and over the water is gorgeous and I love the reflections of the fallen branches. The man in hi-vis stands out perfectly.

Beautifully composed and taken sir..!!
