Thanks Rosa, when I saw this I thought the chances I took of sand getting into my equipment was worth the effort but if in the future my camera or lens goes wrong and somebody says something about grains of sand I shall know better. Glad you liked it.

Very dramatic and effective. I know what you mean about sand and cameras - never sure whether it's a good idea! This is great though.

I'm sure it is not my friend. Sand is death to camera lenses, both internally and externally. I have even seen demonstrations of sand pitting the lens glass itself. I did consider all this and yet still did it -stupid or what!!! All for the HFF - silly really I suppose :) Glad you like it though -makes it all worthwhile :)

Very nice composition here!
I particularly like the sky, and also there is an impression that lots of sand is moving about in the wind.. (Although on 1/800 sec I do wonder if it is just a clever illusion!)

Hi Peter, I salute you! Out of all the viewers only you have put two and two together re the movement. Yes, it was rather bright, even more so with this very wide angle Tokina and so a fast shutter speed was called for. The movement, like some shots of my seas is exaggerated a little by the fact that like many of my presented photos, this is a hdr of three shots done over a second or so. In this way I capture the moving sand in three places hence the real sense of movement, you see the same particle in three different places. sometimes this works against me, but in this case it showed to its advantage. Very astute of you to notice. Glad you enjoyed it.

Hi Carol -you see in here what I saw and felt. I too particularly liked the texture and colours in the mini sand-cliffs just behind the rock. As you say conveying that senses of movement.
