Something of a ' flying selfie', the camera (well attached by a strap) held at arm's length outside the glider while on the return to the airport. View on black.

Explored.

Amazing shot, but I've decided you're nuts George! Surely if the wind picks up you get swept on past the airport, or if it drops, you fall out of the sky before reaching it with no mechanical means of manoeuvre? Sod that for a lark...I'd want propellers at the very least, and preferably a jet engine!

I guess it's all a matter of what we're prepared to do, Phil. You have some amazing images of you white water rafting and riding a motorcycle in SE Asia - I'd find either of those way outside my comfort zone! :)

On a rough calculation, it would have reached the ground in a little under ten seconds, Bev. :)

Thank you all so much for your kind comments and faves on this shot. I can assure you I did indeed have the camera very tightly retained by a strap to my arm, which was poking through an opening air vent. The key point was that the glider was travelling at only about 40 -50 knots (say 80-100 kph) so the wind was not strong.
