Galah portrait. #1 of sequence

Galah portrait. #1 of sequence
One of a family of galahs that regularly come to our bird feeder. This one was kindly posing for the camera until, to its surprise and mine, a hungry rainbow lorikeet arrived (next shot).

William Sutherland, beverley, , Richard Nuttall and 4 other people have particularly liked this photo

Thanks Pam, the galahs are quite attractive birds - and normally very peaceful.

I really love this series. Gorgeous birds. That galah...wow. Hard to believe they are considered to be pests!

Thank you for your comments, Janet. Although a few farmers may not like them, I can assure you they are usually protected as part of our wildlife and certainly few people would consider them to be pests. :)

Thank you ~erin~, I'm sure it would find your comments very flattering. Would you believe that there even is a galah webpage? galah.galahs.com.au/content/php/article031.php and from the information there, it seems this one is a female (the clue is the eye colour).

to your feeder ... my goodness, you are lucky ... nothing
as tropical as this in ours ... only a drink at sunset ;-)

We are indeed fortunate with our birds, both the variety and the number. These galahs are regular visitors.
