Macro Dreams

Contribution for the Macro Dreams challenge: "Coffee bubbles"

The coffee blend I enjoy somewhat every day is rather bubbly. Although, it is so because I've been aerating my coffee ever since I discovered that method. To get a macro shot of those bubbles I then had to be patient and wait until the coffee is cool enough to avoid foggy camera lens. Luckily my favorite coffee blend also tastes good when lukewarm.

So, no need to spoil good coffee with soap ;-)

This is such a COOL SHOT!!! The details are so wonderful. How can you go wrong with bubbles?! But...coffee? *edges away* *covets my creamy espresso protectively*

Ok, I went to see your aerating link and now I understand! And I am happy to say that I get "bubbly" coffee every day too! Heh...only it's formed by the crema from pulling an espresso shot. The bubbles are much smaller but the more crema, the better-tasting the shot is, no doubt about it! (this search has some pictures of mine: www.ipernity.com/search/photo?w=290645&q=coffee )

I can imagine getting this effect by blowing through a straw into the coffee.

Love the bubbles- fast enough shutter speed to catch them all!

It actually much depends on the coffee blend used. The one we have used to like and drink with my wife, forms pretty long lasting bubbles. So, no need for a fast shutter speed, or shoot quickly.

Excellent.
We say in French "Café bouillu (boiled) café foutu" (damned coffee) ;)
But I understood that it is not boiled here.
