It looks really beautiful there in the sunshine Rosa...............the front of the house is very impressive. I like the natural "fence"............I wonder how long it has taken to train the trees like that?

A nice little covered area with super columns in the PiP and a lovely bench too.....just right for sitting and enjoying the gardens.

It's very windy here today.........so far we've been OK, but the leisure centre behind our house has lost a huge window, the frame and some brickwork this morning. No one hurt thankfully. It doesn't look as if it's going to calm down for a good few hours yet!

A shame it's not weather like that today Keith! It is a lovely house, but tenanted, so no looking inside! There is normally a cafe at the back of the house, but on this occasion it was closed.

I saw Southsea on the news!! I think the winds were stronger there than here, but 3 panes of glass blew from our greenhouse! My neighbour helped to board it up, which so far has stopped further damage. I'm pleased no one was hurt at the back of your house! The top of a church spire in Wells toppled over, and there are many roads blocked by trees.

I good weekend to stay inside Keith...have a good one though!

We got off quick lucky Rosa. No real damage in Oldham as far as I know. We had some gust but all our tall trees are still standing and two houses in the same cul-de-sac having new roofs, seem to be unaffected. Snowing here now!

Hi Sarah, As I mentioned to Peter, I took full advantage of the many benches at this property, so I okay for a few weeks now ;-)) It is very calm here today, but yesterday the winds were very damaging. You would never have kept your headscarf on!! ;-))

It has been extremely windy with a lot of trees blown down, but thankfully there is not very much damage in our garden. Thank you for your concern and I am pleased you like this picture...the weather was so much better on that day :-)

An interesting looking house Rosa, such a shame there is no chance of a look inside. I bet there is plenty of history to tell. The light in your photo is lovely and it makes a super cheery photo. Ideal therapy to counter a weekend of horrible weather.

Thank you very much Ed. Yes it does have a lot of history, being lived in at one time by a woollen mill owner. There was also a glove factory in the village, which I want to find out more about.

After seeing the news today I was very concerned for you, as well as for all the people who were swept away by the storm from Ireland to Poland. A lot of damage... I am happy for you and your compatriots who have commented here that you have only suffered a few material damage.
This site in the centre of Holt looks very resourcing and has a real architectural charm. But above all your captures give of it an idyllic vision with those dreamy shades and light!
