A dangerous walk .... but the photo is spectacular!!!*****

PS.... This is the first photo I have commented on using Windows 10... progress is slow.

I have been using Windows 10 for a few weeks now. It takes a bit of getting used to, and there have been a few choice words I'm afraid!!

Echo my thoughts Rosalyn, Perhaps they are not as close to the edge as the picture makes out.

The Cobb slopes towards the sea Maurice. I have only been up there once and I didn't like it, especially when having to pass people. This pair were quite close to the edge. Very foolish to ignore the danger signs.

Yes I read about that Roger. I wouldn't go up there in the summer, let alone a wet and windy day. I was grateful to be able to take the picture, but would have been horrified had they fallen in the sea.

Not the most sensible thing to do but as you say it makes a wonderful shot Rosalyn. I wonder if I still have the DVD of The French Lieutenant's Woman !! Did you know there is a live webcam of the Cobb. Ignoring signs people have been moving road closed signs to go down flooded roads including a Tesco lorry

There were signs at each end of The Cobb Peter. I also have that DVD, a good film. Yes I did know there is a live webcam, as with many places now. I look at the West Bay one occasionally, as they have huge waves! I hear there is storm Ellen to cope with now!

MARVELOUS!! Great composition and timing, the little girl looks like she's dancing along as she goes, so darling. The precarious footing cannot be ignored, especially if that brick has a growth of slime on it in any capacity. I'd be awfully careful out there, but I also don't know if I could resist the allure! :)

I was pleased with the shot Janet, but worried for them. My one time on The Cobb was enough for me, and that was in summer!! It is higher and more sloped than you might think. Thank you for your great comments Janet. Have a good day.

Really nicely composed shot Rosa. The two figures give a good sense of the scale of the Cobb and the size of the waves. There have been too many people lost to the sea in similar circumstances in Scarborough for me not to think it is a rather foolish act on the part of the adult.

I totally agree Doug. I had to watch until they were safely off The Cobb. You wouldn't get me up there even in good weather! Thank you for your kind comments.

Oooh the Cobb is a bit scary for me even in good weather. I must admit to being pleased when we were off it again the day we went there. The slope is more prenounced than you think. I noticed that one of the ladies in costume we photographed didn't risk it either. Makes a great shot though.

Me too Carol. I have only been up there once, and that was enough for me. Yes, the slope is very pronounced. That's what I didn't like. I stayed still and everyone had to maneuver around me!!
I was very grateful for the shot though ;-)

I wondered if you'd taken another photo of the Cobb when you posted yesterdays one...........but I wasn't expecting to see people up on top, especially in view of the wind. Rather then than me!

It's a cracking shot though Rosa...........you even managed to get some definition in the sky which makes a nice change from the featureless grey ones we've been seeing lately.

It made me very nervous to see someone on The Cobb with a child Keith. The sky was quite changeable all day...wait 'till you see tomorrow's picture! You wouldn't believe it was the same day!
