St Laurence Church ~ Downton.

A lovely looking church inside and out, the brick parapet is unusual it looks as if it may be a later addition, are you keeping warm ??????? I hope you have a nice afternoon Rosalyn

It seems to be a mixture of brick and flint Peter. I am very warm thank you...painting the summer house!!

And I thought that I was mad going to the allotment !!!! Is it brown or some fancy colour ?? have you ever been to Hill Street Gardens at Warwick they were Victorian allotments that have been restored including some summer houses, they have put old tools etc. in them I decided I could do that so i've been de-rusting old tools I'm even making a peg rug i didn't realise how many things I would have to cut up !!

It's green on the outside Peter but I was painting inside, very pale blue. Good luck with the rug.

Came through Downton twice - didn't know that they have such an interesting church. That's a lychgate on the PiP, isn't it?

That's interesting Leon. It is a big village with some beautiful cottages I thought. The church was down a lane. Yes it is a lychgate. Unfortunately I didn't see Judith. I had a feeling she lived in that area! Maybe next time ;-)

Beautiful exterior and interior. So different from most Scottish churches which are built of stone (we have plenty of it !) and have much more austere interiors.
