Emma & her daughter, Ethel have a roadside picnic - c1931
A bit late for the Vintage Photo Theme Park - Taking a trip..... theme, but I only just came across this delightful scene. Clearly they weren't expecting much traffic on this road. I think that that must be a photographer's tripod leaning against the luggage trunk. I have identified the make and model, as a Morris Cowley, from that trunk and the 'artillery' style wheels, as well as the layout of the doors and windows. I have only guessed at the year.
Emma was a relative of Walter Pritchard and this may well have been his car, although we have pictures of Em & Ethel using it, Walter was the likely photographer - one photo actually has his name embossed into it. In this photo it is probably him in the driver's seat, although that begs the question who was the photographer.
