On the side of one of the guitar cases, a sticker has those words .. "my grass is blue". Since it belongs to one very talented bluegrass pickers ... it has to be true~
Last night was an evening of Bluegrass ---- good ol' pickin .... many thanks to The Old Holmes Boys ..
Rafe on Mandolin -
Richard on Bass -
Parker on Banjo [ and sometimes guitar ] -
and, as Rafe says in band introductions. " he put the old in Old Holmes Boys "
Gary on guitar -

They played to a packed house with some really old bluegrass, but some newer selections, too.
OHB even took requests .. it was a great foot tapping night !

Thanks, guys !

Oh, yes! A foot tapping that continues as I convert the videos from large to smaller to fit in here! They are a great bunch of talented, polite Southern Gentlemen... even the youngest, Parker on banjo ... not sure he has hit his 20th birthday, yet.

I knew some fiercely talented Bluegrass musicians back in my old Kentucky homeland. (My home town used to call itself the birthplace of Bluegrass because Bill Monroe was born 30 miles to the south. I thought that was a bit of a stretch.) These guys sound as good as many I've known.

Thank you for the remarks, Clint -- I shall pass them along to the guys next time our paths cross!
