The wild Turkey flock comes here to dine... I havent the heart !!!

So.. soft fool I am.. i by a crown and split it .. half for TG half for Christmas.. and I buy turkey thighs as we both love the dark meat.

Beloved One hates leftovers so.. it works out for us two.. just 2-3 days and done !

lol Pam, it was not wild it was raised by a neighbour! It was a 'tip' for hubby and work he did for the people.
as much as I tease you about eating your wild ones... I couldn't do it either!

Nice layout Pam, brings back old memories.

I had a Turkey breast.
soaked for two hours in Whiskey spiced with parsley, thyme, garlic and black pepper then roasted with a drop of virgin olive oil. Had roast spuds and mixed vegetables and fruit.
Dessert was a clementine. Washed down with luxury Sapporo beer from Hokkaido, Japan.

Enjoy the rest of the seasonal feast.

We were actually married in Edinburgh on the 26th Jan. The night before the wedding we had the Burn's Night at "The Balmoral "

It was on heck of a way to start our celebrations. My husband is American... his face was a picture.. I had been to many Burns Night Suppers... he...... grins........

Looks so lovely and this is from someone who is not a turkey fan. My favourite is duck and sometimes venison. We have a wonderful local farm run by a vet so I know the animals are treated well right up to the end.

You and I are so alike. I would live on Venison if I could.. and love Duck and Goose.

I need to move back near your Vet (I WISHHHHHH !!!)

Thanks for the kind message, Pam. Appreciate the informationa and it will be put to good use. There are so many things we miss from the UK but when we lived there we missed a lot of things from the States. Our daughter who lives in Belfast is here for a couple weeks and she brought a lot of things along with her.

Bon appétit ! Mais d'où vient la bouteille de chardonnay ?
Pam J club has replied to Sylvain Wiart
Merci Sylvain !

The Chardonnay comes from a superb Oklahoma vineyard !! Yes.. I know.... not what you expect is it ? ! They have a top class Merlot too and are just 12 miles from me ! It bears comparison to a good French one.... thought THE best Chardonnay I ever had came from New Zealand !
Sylvain Wiart has replied to Pam J club
thanks for the answer, Pam ! In France they don't call the wine by name of grape variety, but almost all Burgundy white vine (Meursault, Montrachet, Pouilly-Fuissé,etc...) are made with chardonnay
I didn't know about vineyards in Oklahoma, and as I consulted the web, I've found Canadian River in Lexington and others pleasants name of wineries : Blue coyote, Put a cork in it , Girls gone wine, The Rusty nail !
All my wishes for 2015 !

Pam J club has replied to Sylvain Wiart
Smiles... this is the Canadian River !

Generally no they dont in France... but elsewhere they often do .

Interesting point... till Prohibition... Oklahoma was the 3rd largest wine exporter in the USA apparently !

I never expected to find wonderful wines like I have here !! There is a very healthy resurgence..and those you named.. been there done them... its a pleasure !!

Salute ! 'à la vôtre santé'

New Year Blessings !

You can keep the sprouts, cranberries and mince pies...I can't stand 'em! The rest of it looks and sounds completely delicious. I thought I'd had enough of turkey for one year, but seeing this my guts are gurgling like a dodgy drain. I'm STARVING!! Is there any left? ;-)

Pam J club has replied to Phill G
LOL Phill !!

I used to hate sprouts... now wil tolerate.

Mince I love and crannies.

Have none left.. but can provide other scrummy food !

I try so hard to create a trad English Christmas dinner in Spain but it is impossible. You can just about buy all the ingredients but everything is different enough to make it all very untypical. For instance, you can never get any juice from the meat to make a decent homemade gravy, and from that basic starting point, it all sort of falls apart!!!
I do like this shot though!!! And I wish all the very best for Christmas this year! It would be nice to think we could say the same again next year on ip!!!

Pam J club has replied to Andy Rodker club
Thankyou Andy.. Yuletide Blessings to you too !

I have learned to substitiute and also buy a few precious things for USA/Ex pat shops online (and Amazon) . I have friends in Spain who come and go back and forth and bring stuff back to Spain !
