Magnolia

Magnolia
I noticed this Magnolia flower still had it's winter hat on as it prepares itself for spring!

Please view large, on black. Thank you.

Well you never know with our changeable weather Keith! I pass a beautiful tree this colour on my way to Yeovil when I pick my granddaughter up from school but have not been able to stop and take a picture. It is very striking and beautiful.

Die Magnolie hätte ich fast nicht erkannt. Sie hat noch ihre Mütze auf ;-) Wunderbar in der Großansicht!

Keith, this is awesome. What great timing to catch this before the casing dropped off. It is such a fun challenge to find flowers that are about to erupt into bloom like this. A perfect shot with all the wonderful hairy details to enjoy. My first thought was that it looked like a birdy beak on an impossibly magenta bird! :D Viewing large is such a treat. The fine details are awesome. I also shared this with my husband and he was suitably impressed as well! Nice job, perfect angle, you get a gold star for the day! :D

Thank you for your super comments about my SSC challenge...lol it was made for me it seems, and I had to laugh when I read what the theme was! :D Glad you loved all the pictures--and I loved that you used "splendiferous"! I'll have to use that one more, isn't it a super word? :D

Have a lovely rest of your day!

What a great shot! The magnolia bud looks like a pink bird with a long brown beak.
