Glorious evening light, especially where it's reflected on the water Roger.............the river banks look resplendent with the beautiful grasses and wildflowers. The swans are the icing on the cake, so to speak.

Not sure exactly what the UFO is, but I'd go with the helicopter (or a sensor clean)! A corker of a shot my friend!

Thank you Keith, definatly not sensor issues, to be sure of an image I take two at the same location to allow for camera shake and the second image is clear it must however have been moving very fast to miss the second image.

I've just had another look at the original and I reckon it's the silhouette of a large bird flying from left to right (as you look at it).

Outstanding shot Roger, there might be a fertile spot in the river for the swans to amass there like that. I like the blue sky reflection and I reckon a helichopper as well. As an after thought might be nearer to you and possibility of a drone.

Thank you Maurice, the fields either side of the drain were filled with feeding swans, I doubt it was a drone althought that remains a possibility a fast moving helecopter I guess, as always I took two images to allow for shake and it did not feature in the shot a moment or two later.

I like this picture very much!
Of course the river banks lead our eyes to the swans....
The object in the sky looks like a helicopter, certainly not something in the camera.
I have army helicopters flying over here very frequently. They have two rotors, and a wide base with four landing wheels in each corner. Viewed end on they would match your shape perfectly.

What ever it was moved rather fast as it did not appear in a second image I took moments later.

Anyway the photo is wonderful. A long time ago I was very interested in these topics. If the universe is infinite, there should be infinite civilizations and we would have been visited infinite times but we do not have a nanogram of junk or alien genetic material . It's probably a helicopter or a hang glider. Have a nice Sunday Roger.

Just to colour the picture a little, we had the police helicopter out over the field this afternoon looking for a 'missing person'. When I first saw it in the sky it was exactly that shape, and it reminded me so much of your pictures!

It is indeed an "unidentified flying object", but not the UFO kind from outspace as my guess is bird, probably a hawk of some kind.

Thank you it's a bird or helicopter of course but it made for a talking point ;-), The swans are a small part of a very large population that live on this corner of the levels
