The ruins of the castle are ideally positioned on the coast to make a great nesting place - so it's easy to see why the birds have appropriated it each year!

This is a super shot Roger..............captured in lovely sunlight. The amount of fine detail you've captured is wonderful. I love the colour of the brickwork and it contrasts nicely with the grass and the blue sky. Excellent work!

The main diet during the breeding season is sand eels of which a plentiful supply is available close by so I assume that to be a contributing factor plus the castle is literally right on the coast but reasonable sheltered.
