Lower Lighthouse

Lower Lighthouse
The lower lighthouse on the shores of Bridgwater Bay at Burnham On Sea, The light is needed to keep vessels away from the Gore Sands which has claimed many ships and where wrecks are often exposed at low tides, The town including the shortest pier in the country can be seen in the distance,

Large please.

A lovely shot of the unusual lighthouse. Much needed along that stretch of the coastline. A good music link too Roger.

Thank you Rosa, a dramatic tidal range and plenty of mud to catch people out as we observed the rescue hovercraft and beach rescue team pass by on the way to an incident.

Roger (Grisly) club has replied to Janet Brien club
Thank you Janet, It was not the best of weather for a walk out to the lighthouse but it helped with the post Christmas excesses, the distance is very much foreshortened in the image but it was the only way I could get everything clear.

Thank you Peter very much appreciated,
If you are able to view the image large, on the sea wall to the right of the church tower is another red stripe on a white background this lines up with a light on top of the church as the next turning marker to guide ships into the river.
