Birthday Cards from my beloved Grandmother Kate, such a beautiful, gentle person. This message written when she was 83.

(Yes, I am a terrible hoarder)

Well, that is the "problem" with such things as birthday cards. They are just too precious to toss away. Even more so these days, when letters and cards are becoming a rarity. I actually can't remember the last time I had a birthday card. People are now congratulating each others online.

Yes, indeed, these are great to send and to receive but a pain to discard. But in the end I cannot hold them for the remainder of eternity so I tend to put them into the recycle bin.

Fine to keep memories... most of mine were swept away in a flood and I had trouble to find something older than 30 years...
Grand mothers are precious, I was raised by one, lucky you to have so many mementos.

I also have many cards and little notes that I can't bear to part with. Some from family, friends, former students and their parents. They are in a box that I can easily go through when I need "to remember!" Like the PIP images as well. Treasure them, as I know you will.

My birthdays weren't celebrated much when I was a child so I grew up not paying attention to them. I think that's made me picky about mementoes. I don't keep many but I enjoy looking at then when I do.
