Blacksmith Shop, 12 Maple Street. Mural.
Arthur Crees built and operated the blacksmith business here from 1920. The adjoining allotment was used as the holding yard for horses waiting to be shod.
Owen Norton acquired the business in 1954 and continued until its closure in 1989.

Great entry Gillian . He looks like my horse , an old Cross Shire. He has great feathers and his feet would be heavy for the farrier/ blacksmith to lift. Lovely image

Great image depicting the work of the blacksmith Gillian. We have a local blacksmith here in town and I want to take pictures inside if I can talk to the owner for permission the next time I see it open.
