Crossing the line (Explored)
A daring (for its time) evening suit originally worn by Marlene Dietrich in the 1930's and designed by Travis Banton. As seen in the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, Massachusetts as part of its exhibition, Gender Bending Fashion. This exhibition "features more than 60 boundary-pushing contemporary designs alongside dozens of 20th-century garments and photographs, illustrating a rich history of individuals disrupting, blurring and seeking to transcend a traditional division between men’s and women’s clothing over the last 100 years."

How cool is this?! What wonderful design. I am crazy about film and costume design, so of course this is really interesting to me. I once got the chance to visit the Lucas Arts costume design and props building on the Lucas Ranch...I got to touch Harrison Ford's Star Wars and Indiana Jones hat/jacket/etc, Princess Leia's harem outfit, even Michael Jackson's E.O. costume...boy did I know how lucky I was...sooooo many amazing things that I got to actually touch and look at closely. It was a memory of a lifetime. :) My ex worked there so I got a private visit and got to stay for long enough to enjoy what I wanted to. It was awesome and incredibly cool.
