Berlin neighborhood (#2240)
Relatively close in the neighborhood, interesting artwork on a shop. The 'Checkpoint' in the shops name does not appear to be related to Checkpoint Charlie since this is nowhere near it.

I wonder how old this artwork is. It implies certain undertones, but then I remember that it's been 26 years since the wall fell. If this work was recent, it's possible the artist might not even remember Checkpoint Charlie.

I suspect that in Berlin everyone knows about Checkpoint Charlie since it has become a cheap tourist trap (pictures later) with reenactors and is pretty centrally located. The 'Checkpoint' may be a play on words. From what I could find out through a quick search, the store is basically a film nostalgia store.
