At the end of May 2018 I decided to have a couple of nights in the city and explore the area and see the buses. Saturday 2 June 2018 (0921) – Go North East 5239 (NK56 KHG), a Scania OmniCity new in February 2007, seen travelling across the High Level Bridge from Newcastle-upon-Tyne to Gateshead when working ‘Toon Link’ branded service X31 to Stanley. The bridge was opened by Queen Victoria in 1849 and carries railway tracks on the upper level. The lower level features pedestrian paths either side of a roadway now restricted to use by local buses and taxis travelling southbound only. When constructed the roadway was adequate for two way carriage and cart traffic.

Thursday 31 May 2018 (2003) – The National Express Coach Station in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. A Caetano Levante had just set down and was leaving. The coach station has a single entrance/exit gate from Churchill Street which runs along the front of the Boulevard Club. There is a single storey building and five coach loading stands with a canopy cover. Closest to the camera are layover bays for the parking of coaches.
