DSCF2721 Go North East 5239 (NK56 KHG) on the High Level Bridge, Newcastle - 2 Jun 2018
Saturday 2 June 2018 (0921) – Go North East 5239 (NK56 KHG), a Scania OmniCity new in February 2007, seen travelling across the High Level Bridge from Newcastle-upon-Tyne to Gateshead when working ‘Toon Link’ branded service X31 to Stanley.

The bridge was opened by Queen Victoria in 1849 and carries railway tracks on the upper level. The lower level features pedestrian paths either side of a roadway now restricted to use by local buses and taxis travelling southbound only. When constructed the roadway was adequate for two way carriage and cart traffic.
