At the end of May 2018 I decided to have a couple of nights in the city and explore the area and see the buses. The Chinese Arch, built in 2004 by Shanghai craftsmen, spans St. Andrew’s Street. The area out of shot where the grass bank is on the right was once the site of the United Automobile Services bus and coach station/garage.

Heading towards the camera is Stagecoach (Busways) 12084 (NK11 DJY), an Alexander Dennis Enviro400 bodied Trident new in August 2011. The photograph was taken from the upper deck of similar bus 12076 (NK11 DHY).

The main subject is 26063 (SN66 WLR), an Enviro200 MMC new in November 2016 working service 30 to Fenham. On the left is 19387 (NK58 AFE), an Enviro400 bodied Trident new in September 2008 which carries a rear end advert for cross town service 22 from Throckley to the Cobalt Business Park. The advert says that the 22 is a lucky number for passengers Mark at P&G (Procter and Gamble), Sharky at DWP (Department of Work and Pensions) and Alison at telecoms company EE. Greggs probably needs no further introduction as it must have one of its bakery shops in nearly every medium sized town throughout Britain. (Their website claims over 2,000 locations and aiming for 2,500)

Vehicle is a Stagecoach (Busways Travel Services) Alexander Dennis Enviro200 MMC seen near Newcastle-upon-Tyne Central Station. It was in hot pursuit of a Go North East Scania OmniCity branded for the ‘Toon Link’ (Town Link) services. Both therefore capitalising on local dialect.
