Tyneside - May/Jun 2018

I had not really visited Tyneside before only passing through Newcastle on trains and coaches heading to Scotland. At the end of May 2018 I decided to have a couple of nights in the city and explore the area and see the buses.

Go North East, a subsidiary of the Go Ahead Group, is a very colourful bus operator with numerous different brandings on its buses.

Stagecoach and Arriva also have a presence although their brandings are mainly lettering carried on their respective corporate liveries.

During my visit I travelled out to Wallsend, Whitley Bay and North Shields (on the northern bank of the Tyne) returning via South Shields, Jarrow and Gateshead (on the southern bank). North Shields to South Shields was via the Tyne Ferry.
